📋 Scheme Overview
Khelo India is the national sports development programme identifying and nurturing sporting talent across India from grassroots level. In West Bengal, young athletes excelling in sports like football, kabaddi, wrestling, athletics, badminton, and boxing can avail annual scholarships, residential training at Sports Authority of India (SAI) centres, and access to world-class sports infrastructure through Khelo India Sports Centres established across the state.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
- Students aged 10–18 years with demonstrated sporting talent at school or district level
- Athletes who have represented their district, state, or national competitions
- Students from economically weaker sections given priority
- Open to all genders and sports disciplines
- Must be enrolled in a recognized school or college in West Bengal
